Dr. Kellum Tate-Jones (they/she) is an Avarna Group partner and founder and principal consultant of Refugium Consulting & Facilitation Services. Kellum is a storyteller, scientist, actor, community builder, writer, and naturalist. They identify as a white, queer, genderfluid American Southerner whose Deep South roots ground them in personal experiences with intersectional systems of oppression. Kellum holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Oregon, a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Harding University. She earned a certification in community storytelling facilitation from The Hearth. Kellum also serves as a co-director of the Rehearsals for Life theatre of the oppressed troupe with the University of Oregon Department of Equity and Inclusion. Kellum is a poet and writer whose work can be found on their Substack newsletter Among Ruins and Relics.
