This course has 6 lessons (with 4 hours of total content) to support people in the mainstream climate sector interested in ensuring both outcomes and the process of climate adaptation work centers frontline communities. The lessons cover:
- A short overview of legacies of systemic oppression that impact frontline communities and influence how climate work is done and basic guiding questions for all community engagement work;
- Building relationships based on trust;
- How to imbue your community engagement work with procedural equity and justice;
- Equitable research practices;
- Equitable program and project design; and
- Equitable and accessible facilitation of meetings and convenings.
